Craig Revel Horwood is an Anglo-Australian artist whose career encompasses dance, choreography, theatre direction and popular performance. He began as a dancer in Australia before settling in the United Kingdom, where he built West End credits as a choreographer and director, notably for Spend Spend Spend and My One and Only — both nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Choreography. He also served as associate and resident director on productions of West Side Story and Miss Saigon, and has directed productions and tours of shows such as Sunset Boulevard, Chess, Sister Act and Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.

Alongside his stage work, he became a public figure on television as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing from its 2004 debut, appearing across dozens of series and more than five hundred episodes through 2026. Known for a critical style and memorable one-liners, he developed a recognizable profile for both technical exactingness and media presence, which contributed to his popular notoriety.

Over the decades Horwood has also appeared in pantomimes and touring theatre, taking recurring stage roles, and has presented solo shows and personal concert tours that combine singing, dancing and accounts of his career. His body of work combines creative contribution to musical theatre with television visibility, establishing him as an influential figure in British performing arts.
