Stephen Espinoza is an entertainment executive and attorney whose career has been defined by sports management and high-stakes television deals. He earned a degree in Communications from Stanford and a law degree from UCLA, beginning his career as an attorney at entertainment-focused law firms where he represented prominent artists and athletes. Among his clients were Vanessa Hudgens, Josh Gad, Snoop Dogg, Tyler Perry and professional athletes. In boxing, he became notable for representing high-profile fighters and serving as lead counsel for Golden Boy Promotions. In 2011 he took charge of Showtime’s sports division, where he prioritized boxing programming and negotiated multimillion-dollar deals, including a multi-fight agreement with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and involvement in highly lucrative pay-per-view events. Promoted to president of the division in 2018, Espinoza oversaw broadcasts that set revenue records until the unit was shut down in 2023, when the entire sports team was dismissed. His legacy includes professionalizing rights negotiations and making boxing a central element of the network’s schedule during his tenure.
