Letitia Dean is an English actress and singer, best known for playing Sharon Watts in EastEnders, a role she took on at the soap’s launch in the mid-1980s and has reprised on several occasions over the following decades. The character became central to the series and headlined high‑rating storylines, including the famous love triangle widely reported in the media as “Sharongate.” In recognition of her long service to the British soap, she received an industry award in 2022.
Beyond EastEnders, Dean has appeared in a range of television and stage productions: guest and recurring roles in youth series and dramas, parts in shows such as Grange Hill, Brookside and The Hello Girls, and work in film.
