Stefanie Powers is an American actress whose career became prominent in film and television beginning in the 1960s. She became known for roles in studio films and television series, often portraying attractive, athletic characters; early in her career she signed with Columbia Pictures and adopted the stage name Stefanie Powers.
Her greatest recognition came with the mystery series Hart to Hart, in which she played Jennifer Hart, a role that earned her two Emmy nominations and five Golden Globe nominations and established her popularity with television audiences. Before that she starred in the short-lived The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. and appeared in films such as Die! Die! My Darling, The Boatniks, Herbie Rides Again and The Magnificent Seven Ride!.
In addition to film and television work, Powers acted on stage — including roles in productions such as Cyrano de Bergerac — and appeared in socially significant television films like A Death in Canaan. Her career reflects the shift from Hollywood supporting actress to leading performer in high‑rating series in the 1970s and 1980s, leaving a legacy as a recognizable figure of American television from that era.
