Tee A. Corinne was an American photographer, writer, and editor whose work reshaped representations of lesbian sexuality in contemporary art. The author of books, short stories, poems, and art publications, she became known for reclaiming female imagery and vocabulary — most visibly in the explicit Cunt Coloring Book (later retitled Labiaflowers) — and for developing photographic techniques that protected models’ identities while celebrating diverse bodies. Active in the feminist movement and in independent publishing networks, Corinne co-founded magazines and caucuses dedicated to women’s art and lesbian visibility, and worked as a columnist and editor. Her practice included portraits of women of different ages, bodies, and ethnicities, challenging the dominant male gaze and broadening portrayals of female sexuality. Winner of awards such as the Lambda Literary Award and included in exhibitions like the Great American Lesbian Art Show, she left institutional legacies: archives donated to a university and the Tee A. Corinne Prize, established to support lesbian artists working in visual media. Her work remains a touchstone in the history of feminist art and queer cultural production.
