Claire Coombs, born Claire Louise Coombs, is a British public figure naturalized as Belgian, known for her 2003 marriage to Prince Laurent of Belgium, son of King Albert II. Trained in land surveying and real estate, she practiced the profession after completing her studies and worked at the firm Brone et Oldenhove in Wavre. Bilingual in English, French and Dutch, she integrated into Belgian society while maintaining a discreet profile regarding official duties. Her public life is marked by a combination of professional activity and philanthropic commitments: Claire has held honorary presidencies of organizations connected to care facility renewal and green spaces, as well as cultural patronages such as the Brussels Choral Society. She was also appointed managing director of a real estate company focused on the renovation of properties in Brussels. In her family life, she is the mother of three children and lives with the family in Tervuren, at Villa Clémentine. Unlike other members of the royal family, she does not hold a defined official role and appears only occasionally at ceremonies; even so, she took part in civic acts unprecedented for the Belgian royalty, such as serving as an assesseur at a polling station.
