Denis Seznec (born Denis Le Her) is a French writer and lecturer, known for devoting much of his life to defending the innocence of his grandfather, Guillaume Seznec, in the famous judicial case that marked France in the twentieth century. As the family heir to the case files, he became the public face of the campaign for rehabilitation, writing works on the subject—including the bestseller Nous les Seznec—and giving more than fifteen hundred lectures about the case.

Over decades, Seznec also worked with organizations supporting victims of miscarriages of justice, serving as president of France‑Justice, an organization that seeks resources to obtain retrials and reviews of convictions. His activism contributed to public debate and to legislative changes regarding the review of criminal cases, notably the 2014 reform that expanded descendants’ rights to request reexamination.

A controversial figure, he has been criticized for a strategy of heavy media engagement and for political positions that alienated some long‑time supporters. Scholars and jurists have disagreed over the quality of his theses and his interpretation of the case documents, but his role as a public campaigner for the Seznec cause is widely recognized as central to the collective memory of the affair.
