Linda Evans, born Linda Evenstad, is an American actress whose television career made her an internationally recognized figure. A Golden Globe winner, she rose to prominence in the 1960s and 1980s for major roles: Audra Barkley in The Big Valley (1965–1969) and, above all, Krystle Carrington in Dynasty (1981–1989), the role that established her as a pop-culture television icon of the era. The success of Dynasty increased her commercial visibility; in 1984 she starred in an advertising campaign linked to her character’s name to promote the Crystal Light beverage. Beyond professional recognition, Evans frequently appeared on beauty lists and posed on the cover of Playboy in 1971 and again in 1982. Off screen, her personal life attracted public attention: she has been married twice, with John Derek as her second husband, and had a long relationship with musician Yanni. She has received honors such as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and, more recently, has devoted herself to ventures outside acting, including running a chain of gyms.
